What is an air gap?
An air gap is an impenertable gap in a computer network that nothing can get past. This means that hackers or other bad actors can't access your data behind an air gap, so if your data is air gapped can't be stolen or encrypted.

The OSI model has 7 levels with the physical layer known as layer 1.
